XOL Exploring tajikistan

If high mountains, remote valleys, narrow roads, forgotten people and tough terrain driving are your thing, then it is an expedition you don’t want to miss out on. This is a treasure trove for the discerning extreme terrain driver who wishes to reach remote corners of the world. Extreme Pamir is a rough trail for the avid driver and explorer. Starting from Dushanbe – the capital of Tajiskitan, the route enters the Wakhan corridor, traces the Afghan & Tajik border to reach Ishkeshim. A walk across into Afghanistan to experience the local Sunday market is surely a highpoint. A collection of fortresses, non-descript villages inhabited by a small, distinct cultural group – the Pamiri people ensures that your date with the Pamir mountains is complete and authentic. Furthermore, another absolute gem is Bartang – a narrow, but very picturesque driving that is sure to challenge not just the vehicle but more so the driver in you! Join us if you wish to be a part of this exploratory expedition that is one of its kind.

  • Raw and rugged natural beauty of the higher mountains of Central Asia at its best – untouched rivers, hidden valleys, jagged peaks, snow capped mountains
  • Wakhan Corridor (a rough track that traces the Afghan border)
  • Bartang Valley – perhaps the most remote and desolate region in the higher Pamirs
  • Ancient Petroglyphs at Langar
  • Multiple hot spring and old fortresses in the Wakhan valley
  • Pamiri people and their unique ethnicity
  • Solid 4×4 off road driving in some virgin, remote high Central Asian mountain terrain
  • The famous Pamir highway from where most of the silk routes branched out
  • Ishkeshim – cross border market in Afghanistan
